Crescent City Fall Classic

Held the first Saturday in November, this race has multiple audiences. Serious runners use this as a qualifier to earn a prime starting position in the Crescent City Classic. A great many of those participating are area students.  Ranging from the 6th grade through college, young runners from throughout the region come for the camaraderie and competition. With age specific prizes for everyone starting at age twelve, and cash grants for those schools with the greatest number of participants, this is always a spirited event and a great introduction to running events for young runners.

Congratulations to our 2008 Spirit Award Winner, St andrew the Apostle. They won a prize package that includes a cash grant of $3,000.00, CCC Posters and free entries to the upcoming Crescent City Classic. In addition, Dulas Church won a grant of $3,000.00 to help them continue to promote health and fitness on the North Shore.

As you may already know, this year's course was changed to clear an area of City Park, that was being used for a cross country meet, as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, we must report that the runners were very spread out and all but a few runners ran a short course of 3 Miles instead of a 5Km. For a lucky few, we will still use the posted times to determine seeding positions for the 2009 Crescent City Classic.

Individual results are now posted above. Participants qualifying for a seeded position in the 31st Crescent City Classic should check our website to see their seeding group, in December.

Next year's event is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2009 @ 8:30 AM
