Celebration in the Oaks Run/Walk
This year's Celebration in the Oaks Run/Walk is Saturday, December 8, 2012 3:30 pm
Race Day Registration begins at 1:30 pm on the Great Lawn.
Held on the second Saturday of December, Celebration in the Oaks Run/Walk, hosted by East Jefferson General Hospital, gives locals the chance to participate in one of the most festive holiday events in the country! The day is filled with cocoa, visits with Santa and much more. This 2-mile course is especially popular with families. Many of those running and walking this event do so with strollers or children right by their side. Participants can enjoy themselves at the post-race party and also head into the the Walking Tour of the beautifully decorated Botanical Garden, Storyland and Carousel Gardens. This event gives participants a chance to see the Celebration in the Oaks Light Display before the gates are open to the general public. The Park is decorated with over 500,000 lights!
A commemorative, glow-in-the-dark, long sleeve T-Shirt is offered to all.
Note: Shirt sizes are not guaranteed to those who register on Race Day or No Show entrants.

Course Map + Parking
All event activites take place on Victory Avenue and the Great Lawn (across from Storyland). Parking is FREE, but limited inside the park. Parking is also available on both Marconi Ave. and City Park Ave. Click here to see the course map!
Bib Numbers
The option to have your bib number mailed to you ends on November 23rd at Midnight. If you did not pay for your number to be mailed to you, you can pick up your bib number on Race Day beginnning at 1:30 pm inside the Great Lawn (all you need is your name, no paper receipts requirred). There will be NO TIMING CHIPS for this race.
The Pre-race Celebration
Dress in Holiday Garb! A warm up session follows SANTA's arrival at 3:00 pm!
The Post-race Celebration
Hot chocolate, coffee, light beer, water, Gatorade and cookies will be available after the race until 5:10 pm ... when the walking tour will begin. Participants will receive complimentary entry into City Park's walking light tour with their BIB number.
Children 3 years or younger
Children riding in strollers who are 3 years or younger DO NOT need to register or pay for a BIB number. However, in order to enter City Park's walking light tour, ALL people must be wearing a bib... so, on Race Day, please pick up a Child's BIB number (free of charge) near the Registration tent if you and your child are planning on participating in the walking light tour after the race.
Volunteers
All Volunteers receive a free t-shirt, free food/drinks and entrance to the post-race party
