Race Details


 

THE EXPO
The CCC will host a 2-day Health & Fitness Expo on the Thursday (April 17th) and Friday (April 18th) before the Race, held at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm both days.  This is where you can pick up your bib number, timing chip, race t-shirt and much more!  

**If you are unable to attend the Health & Fitness Expo, a friend can pick up your bib number & t-shirt for you, but must have a photocopy of your ID or your registration confirmation email with them.

PARKING & TRANSPORTATION

Parking for the Expo is only $5!

  • For short-term parking (less than 1 hr), please park at 501 Loyola (open parking lot in front of 1250 Poydras Building).
  • If you are parking for over 1 hr, please park at the 1301 Girod Street garage for $5 (up to 2 hr), $8 (up to 6 hrs) & $20 (6-24 hours).
  • You must show your CCC10k bib number upon exiting garages to receive the $5 discounted rate!
  • Please note that the Hyatt provides VALET parking only, at standard rates.  
  • Champions Garage will also be open: (0-3 hrs $3, 3-4 hrs $4, 4-5 hrs $6).
Parking on Race Day:

Free parking is available at City Park along Marconi Blvd, in Marconi Meadows, and near the Dog Park.  Note: Parking on the neutral ground along Marconi Blvd. is illegal.  Additionally, Delgado has agreed to provide race participants with secure race parking in the lots on their campus for $20.  
  • At 5:30 am, buses will begin transporting participants from the corner of Beau Bassich Circle (at the end of Roosevelt Mall, just outside of Tad Gormely Stadium) to Dave Dixon Drive (Champions Square) near the start of the race.
  • The last bus will depart at 7:45 am.  PLEASE ARRIVE BEFORE 7:30 am, to catch the last buses to the start.
  • You can avoid the pre-race bus lines and get to your starting area quicker if you park downtown
  • There is ample parking downtown in secure lots and we will provide complimentary bus service from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm to return race participants back downtown after the race.  
  • Garage 6 at the Superdome will be open and accessable from the Poydras/Superdome exit from I-10; parking will be $5 - cash only.  
  • There will also be parking for $8 at 1301 Girod Street garage for Race Participants on Saturday (up to 6 hrs; must have bib # as proof).

 

Race Day Schedule
5:30 am     Buses begin running from City Park (at Beau Bassich Cricle) to start area (Champions Square)
7:45 am     Final Announcements, Dignitary Welcome and the National Anthem 
8:00 am     The Allstate Sugar Bowl Crescent City Classic Begins!
8:30 am     The Michelob-Ultra RaceFest begins near the finish on the Practice Track field (free for runners, $5 for public)
10:00 am   Complimentary Bus Transportation begins taking participants back downtown to Poydras St.
10:30 am   Distribution of Top 500 posters begins in Top 500 Tent (Both male & female - 1,000 total)

11:00 am   Award Ceremony begins on main stage
11:30 am   Festival Bands resume playing (Bonerama & Big Sam's Funky Nation)
1:00 pm     The RaceFest officially ends; complimentary bus transport back downtown ends


THE START
The race begins at the corner of Loyola Ave and Poydras Ave, downtown in New Orleans.  All of Poydras street will be closed on race day and fenced off from Loyola to Lasalle for seeded runners. Lasalle to Clara will have fenced off corrals for all non-seeded runners: Groups D-F.  All walkers/strollers (Groups G & H) will be lined up on Sugar Bowl Dr. by the Superdome.  

 

PLEASE GO TO THE APPROPRIATE START AREA! 
You can access your starting corral by going up onto the Superdome, and then down Ramp A.  Look at your bib color to find your starting position!  Simply match the color of your bib number to the color of you corral, shown on the map below.

Runners will be moved forward to the actual starting area by corrals.  The race will begin at 8:00 AM for the Elite Athletes & all seeded runners (Groups A-C).  Group D (the green corral) will then move to the start line & have their own unique start, & each consecutive group will follow suit thereafter.  Note: All chip timing begins when you cross the start line.  You are NOT penalized for starting near the rear.  Chip Time will be used this year for official results (not Gun Time).

SECURITY AT THE START
We highly discourage all participants from brining backpacks to the race.  If you are running or walking with a bag, stroller or beer cooler, please prepare extra time in getting to the start area, as security guards WILL be checking ALL bags at the start.  Additionally, any participants with a stroller or cooler will only be allowed entry into the last "yellow" corral.

 


THE COURSE
This fast, point to point course is a USAT&F sanctioned and certified 10,000 meters.  It starts in front of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Poydras St., proceeds down Poydras, bears left on S. Peters, continuing onto Decatur St, where it passes Historical Jackson Square.  Participants run through the French Quarter, past Cafe Du Monde & the French Market, before taking a left on Esplanade Ave.  The course continues down beautiful Esplanade to the front of New Orleans City Park on City Park Ave.  The remainder of the course takes place in the park, passing by Storyland and the New Orleans Museum of Art, before finishing on Roosevelt Mall, exactly 6.2 miles from the start.  

Water Stations & Port-o-lets will be placed at Mile Markers 1-5.  All Water Stations will be available on both sides of the street.  Port-o-lets will be placed on the right side of the street for all Mile Markers, except Mile 1 (where they will be off to the left).  Please be sure to hydrate prior & during the race.  Nearly all health issues on Race Day are related to dehydration.  New Orleans EMS units will be stationed throughout the course, and at the Finish line, along with East Jefferson General Hospital personnel.

For your own safety: no bikes, rollerblades, skates, or pets of any kind are allowed on the course.

THE MICHELOB ULTRA RACEFEST
This year's post-race festival will be held from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm at the Practice Track in City Park.  Runners wearing a bib number get in for free & family and friends who did not register for the race can pay a $5 cover to enter and join in the fun (festival tickets also available for purchase at the Expo)!  Free Blue Runner red beans & jambalaya, Michelob Ultra beer, Kentwood Water, fruit & snacks will be available.  This year's Michelob Ultra RaceFest will also feature a Family Fun Zone with fun kid-friendly activities, including inflatables & face painting!  We encourage you to bring the whole family for a run-filled, healthy day!    CLICK HERE for more info about the Festival.
 

 

          
 

 

RACE T-SHIRTS & MEDALS 
All race participants receive a commemorative Race T-shirt and Medal for participating in the Classic.  You can pick up your Race T-shirt at our Expo (must have bib number present) or after the race at the Michelob-Ultra RaceFest in City Park.  All medals will be given out upon finishing the race **You must finish the race to receive a medal.
